King Of Kong director Seth Gordon to reboot WarGames

*Seth Gordon, who directed 2007’s excellent cult documentary
_King Of Kong: A Fistful Of Quarters_, has been recruited by MGM to
remake _WarGames_.*

The original film was released in 1983, and was directed by _Short
Circuit_’s John Badham. Matthew Broderick starred as a computer
prodigy who discovers that his military game could launch real
missiles.

Gordon’s got quite a challenge on his hands, considering
Badham’s film garnered three Oscar nominations in the Sound,
Cinematography and Writing departments.

The _King Of Kong_ director most recently helmed comedy _Horrible
Bosses_, which stars Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman, and opens
next month.

_WarGames_ will be financed by MGM, who is loving the remakes at the
moment, having set in motion plans to also reboot _RoboCop_ and
_Carrie_ on the big screen.
