Exclusive: Jeremy Renner Talks Bourne
Unveils his character's title No movie has attracted just as much speculation lately since the Bourne follow-up/reboot/thingamajig. Rumour and counter-rumour have swirled across the project like mist around Prometheus. When Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass demurred and Jeremy Renner and Tony Gilroy walked up, the question was: who's Renner playing and the way would The Bourne Legacy go with the current world?Well, Empire put people queries towards the guy themselves. "My character is called Aaron Mix," Renner told us, "but he eventually eventually ends up getting lot of different names. For fans in the franchise, [The Bourne Legacy] has that same ticking clock, but it's a completely new programme and new figures."Same goes with Treadstone still involved? "Yeah, it's that same deal, it's just a completely new number of agents getting another leash. It's the same tempo and pace but more expansive and bigger. The versions are pretty huge however, you know it's a Bourne movie."Speaking about bigger plus much more expansive, Renner's star is firmly inside the ascendant. Next for your Californian is Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, then three major tentpoles in 2012: Bourne, The Avengers and Hansel And Gretel: Witchhunters.Bourne Legacy is going on August 17, 2012. Return the next month for Empire's full interview with Renner.
